Size Guide

Rug Size Recommendation By Room

Getting your rug size just right can be tricky, so we’ve created this at-a-glance guide to help you find the perfect fit for your space.

Living Room

  • Go big! A rug that’s too small may make your space appear smaller than it is.
  • Choose a rug that can accommodate at least the front two legs of your seating.
  • For more spacious rooms, opt for a larger rug that allows all four feet of your seating to rest on it.
  • Leave at least 12” between the edges of your rug and your walls.
  •

    Dining Room

    • Opt for a rug that’s large enough to hold both the table and chairs with room to spare!
    • Aim to have the edges of your rug extend at least 36” out from the edges of your table.

    Bedroom

    • Choose a large rug that fits beneath your bed and both nightstands.
    • Alternatively, you can opt for a smaller rug and position it so that the head of the bed and nightstands remain on your floor, just behind the edge of your rug.
    • Aim to have the edges of your rug extend at least 24” out from all three remaining sides of your bed.

    Hallway

    • Try adding a runner to your hallway to elongate and transform the narrow space.
    • Leave at least 3″-5” between the edges of your runner and your walls.
